These instructions give advice and guidelines for planning, construction and monitoring in conjunction with the tuning of control equipment. There has been a great deal of literature published in the field of automatic control technology, little which describes the whole procedure, i.e. from planning to monitoring. In a simple form, these instructions provide practical guidelines for the step by step tuning of a control loop. The guidelines relate to normal self regulating processes with one dominating time constant, and to pure integrating processes.
