Piping class according to PED: summary

This standard describes SSG's designations for pipe classes according to PED. The document is used in industry as a basis for design, manufacture and installation. The standard contains a summary of existing and future SSG pipe classes according to PED.
For simpler piping systems for simpler pressures and loads, like degassing, pipe class PN3 can be used. Additional loads are calculated on a case-by-case basis.
The values in the tables harmonize with what is available on the Scandinavian market.
Material thicknesses for duplex steel pipes and fittings are not specified in this standard. Each pipe component must be calculated individually for the loads that occur in the pipe system. The thicknesses will be calculated and verified by a Notified Body for the next edition.
