This standard is designed to be used as data for suppliers and purchasers in
respect of rollers. The standard deals with important aspects which must be
taken into account in order to provide the best possible design and
maintainability.
The standard looks at design criteria, surface protection treatment, cleaning
options and inspectability, among other things.
Use of SSG 3854E - Technical specification for rollers is recommended as
ordering data for new orders, servicing and replacements.
The standard must not be considered comprehensive for all types of roller.
